bike alarm?
still new to the whole bike thing. and i've been thinking about putting an alarm on my 061krr.
it seems like if you talk to someone who's had bikes all thier life at some point they've had one stolen or knew someone who did. do you guys think they are a good idea? i know it wouldn't prevent someone from picking it up and throwing it in a truck. but may draw attention... i want a cheap one. dont need all the silly crap (remote start, transmitter to page me) just a vibration sensor and a siren. any models to stay away from? thanks.

RE: bike alarm?
I would sugest lowjack but it will run you around $650 installed. My bike got stollen 7 months ago with only 150 miles on it; within two hours of reporting it stollen it was recovered with 153 miles on it. The thieves lived about three miles away and the bike was stored in their living room. You should have seen his girlfriend's face when I when to pick it up from their living (he was already in custody) and she claimed she was clueless, yeah right!. They're going on trial next month, as a result of my bike six more was recovered so they're facing 7 counts of grand theft.Lowjack if you can afford it.
