It still seems to me that both the ZX14 and the 'Busa are really understressed - almost lazy if you like, when you consider that they're getting over 200 BHP from a litre class superbike which you can buy for the street. I have a video of a turbo'd 'Busa which delivers 499 BHP - now that's stressed !
But why are discussing non- CBR units here ?
Someone's lost the plot.............[X(]

This topic is like hell in that it is eternally hot.

I tend to agree with Honda_Hurricane: "Torque is measured; Power is calculated", but I'm writing to ask a question:

Pacojoseph, that dyno chart showing ninja zx14 seems to mix up torque and horsepower, the colors i mean. doesn't it?

Shadow it seems to me that we have moved into the broader spectrum on BHP now, if you can't handle the copilot seat get the hell out the way
And Bob you're right, there seems to be something wrong with Paco's example

You've got that right. Don't blame me, I scanned it straight from the mag. They make a lot of mistakes, many of which I catch (not that one though). I've always thought about applying for a job with them as a proofreader. Whoever does it now ain't worth a sh*t.

[I can remember seeing some old articles about the V 4 sending the in-line 4 the way of the dinosaur and It could have possibly happened if it hadn't been for soft metal minor design flaw and bad publicity and before anyone starts I'm speaking of theV 65 series
I had a V65 Sabre up until a couple of years ago. The rap against them was that they had a problem with getting oil to the rear cylinder cams, causing premature cam wear. There were several aftermarket fixes produced which were expensive and involved drilling holes in the head, so I passed on them. I did read an article, an alternate take on the oiling mods, written by a guy claiming to have been a road tester for the V65 before it was released and who stated that he and his mates never saw any of the problems others reported later. The one thing I took from it was to always keep the revs down untill the bike fully warmed up, and the last time I pulled the rear valve cover off my V65, the cams were in pristine condition.

Yeah. I remember. I wish I had a copy of the Canadian commercial, even though it was nowhere near as radical as the US one.

We are way off the original topic at this point, but there are rumors and even blueprints that Honda is working on a new V4 or evenaV5 here is a thread I started a while back, the photo is supposedly Photoshop. This is a subject I know very little about so I will defer to those who do. But there is also an English article I posted a little if it that I could find concerning the new V4. I realize no one around here wants to see the death of the CBR. But I personally am tired of hearing about Honda losing on the showroom floor and on the racetrack. So I'm game for anything pro Honda
