Default Been a bit

Been a bit since I posted here. lol Lil while back bought myself a 1981 Yamaha XS400 that im converting into a bobber and currently im jumping back into getting the 1000F back in shape. Had to buy a new set of grips other day, the original ones that were on when I got the bike were now paper thin and falling off. lol Literially holding on by a thread on each end. Bought some nice thick foam ones kinda like the original ones but much nicer feeling and bulky. Have a new MRA touring screen on the way too, should be here about Monday or Tuesday. The screen I had on the bike finally had enough when I was at my ex's house and the bike fell over in her gravel driveway and snapped it in half. Before all that though I bought a replacement right side cowl for the bike. Got it off ebay for pretty cheap, also bought a new front fairing stay from same person. The fairing was from off an 93 with the gray and green scheme.

Just a few cracks to repair here and there on the bike, some sanding and then im gunna get it prepped for painting. Oh I also got a new front fender to replace the damaged one. I have the right side protector aswell just have to remove the stud I broke off so I can replace it and get the protector attached. Rewrapped the seat too. Came out of work one early morning and the seat was iced over, when to scrape the ice off and it snapped. Then with the ex riding with me so often the corners between the driver and passenger area of the seat wore off. Ive had to replace the front tire twice and the rear once since ive gotten the bike. Need to do the chain and sprokets soon too. Im getting there slowly. lol

Bike as of tonight.

Welcome back. I have an MRA touring screen and like it very much. The bike doesn't look quite as good as with the stock screen, but the wind flow is much better at speed.

Yeah ive been making alot of trips out to Fayetteville, NC. Riding on i40 at interstate speeds (I swear no faster hehe), between the thin grips making my hands go numb and the wind beating me up its been alot of fun.

Yeah , got one on mine as well , really keeps the wind off at high speeds . Trained on a naked bike so I really notice the difference.

I like the look of my MRA touring screen. I just like the look of the stock screen better. But, I'm happpier with the wind protection, by far, of the MRA.

Just a daytime pic. Im still fighting with myself on the paint job, Im wanting to keep the original scheme but also like the idea of candy apple red with matte black.
