BARBER VINTAGE FESTIVAL
October 17-19. Anyone planning on goin? I went last year. Enjoyed the "MUST SEE" museum and all the great old bikes in attendance. I camped at the track last year but drug my feet to long this time and camping space is sold out. Anyone in the Birmingham, AL area wanna give a motel/camping recomendation near the track?

2 summers ago I stayed here. Nice rooms and reasonably priced.
Hampton Inn
1940 Edwards Lake Road
Birmingham, AL 35235
(205) 655-9777
Nice thing is it's only about 10 miles from Barber. And it's property adjoins a Honda dealer, with a Cycle Gear around the corner in the shopping center. (worked out great when the battery wend dead in my wifes bike).

Put some miles on last week! Cincinnati to Chicago and back. Drop off the wife, oil change, then on the road solo. South to the Smokies, Deals Gap,thru the North Georgia mountains. Further south to Atlanta, visit the sister for a day and then headed west to Birmingham,AL. Took in the Vintage Festival at Barber and spent the Rainy Friday in the great museum. Camped at the track with the good guys I met last year. Back north to Cincinnati on Sunday.
Average fuel economy was 42mpg with most of the time on interstates spent above 5000rpm,(stock gearing), with a couple of burst north of 6000rpm.
Good stuff. Anyone else have any great Fall rides?
