Bad Rattling

Bad Rattling
I have been having a problem with my bike stalling at idle, would work fine at higher rpm's. I have read the posts listed and was going to try them. Yesterday, I came to a stop and there was a horrible rattling noise coming from the engine that would go away at higher rpms(2000-2500). I took the fairing off and looked at it with the engine running. Nothing appears loose and it seems to be coming from the carb area, hard to locate. Anyone had a problem like this or any ideas? Dont have the funds for a shop and I dont want to just start randomly dissasembling parts.

RE: Bad Rattling
Since the noise is coming from the engine, is the bike also overheating? Since it dies at idle, the idle jets could be clogged. Here's what the Haynes manual says: The weak mixture (from clogged idle jets) can cause pre-ignition, overheat the engine and cause pinging and knocking. The first thing I would do is pull the plugs and see how they look. But I really think you have to clean your carbs.
