They run in oil, Steve. That's how it should be.
Careful of the oil seal when you reassemble, and be sure you tap it on straight - I don't have any more spare stator covers !

Thanks Shadow. I need to replace mine (i think) after checking my charging system and was a little concerned to find oil in there. It's the first time i've taken it off so wasn't sure if it was right or not.
