Just as an FYI...I've sent many samples to Blackstone Labs for analysis, and that has taught me that 7,500 miles is no sweat on Rotella-T. In fact, I'm certain that 10,000 would still be conservative, but I like to get an eyeball on the bike in general every little bit, so changing the oil at 7,500 is a good way to do that for me. 3,500 is just spendin' cashola you could be a-savin!

For other folks who might not like the idea of using that oil, here are a few case studies...a few bikes I've had, all used Rotella-T, changed between 7,000 and 10,000 miles since new (to me)

85 CB700SC Nighthawk S - bought it with 22,000 miles, gave it away at 118,000, still going strong.

84 V65 Sabre - bought it with 17,000, sold it with 61,000...no probs.

91 GSXR1100 - bought with 4,400 on it, sold with 57,000, no probs.

96 Triumph Daytona 1200 - bought with 5,500 miles, sold with 68,000, no probs.

I also use it in all of my race bikes...there isn't anything better - even the high dollar Motul, Silkolene, etc. They're very good...just not better.

I use maple syrup. Hell, if it sticks to my pancakes then why not right. hahaha!

Disclaimer: This is a joke. No bikes harmed while testing. It's a proven fact that Maple syrup won't lube your bike, but it's sure good on the pancakes. ;-)

cheers!

Hi all !

I use a part synthetic oil. The oil is Castrol Power1 GPS - 10W40.
I would like to know your opinions about this oil. I think that is a appropriate one.

Thanks,

Albano Martins

I don't see why there would be anything wrong with that oil, Albano. Looks good.

I you're interested in reading about oils, here is a good site. All About Oil
It's worth the read.
