alternator tensioner
Greetings to all readers of the forum. I watched the tutorials on youtube for opening and closing the engine for replacing the alternator chain tensioner. When reassembling the lower half of the engine it is necessary to synchronize the drum with the gear lever selector. What position should the gear selector drum be placed in? The gear selector inside has notches corresponding to the gears and on the side a lateral cam with a notch that must align with that of the crankcase. Which gear does the alignment of the selector notches with the crankcase correspond to? In what position should the drum be placed? Thanks to all those who want to help me. Greetings from Italy
Therefore, the tensioner has two bolts accessible from the underside of the engine, on the side of the ratchet. The tensioner is made of steel. What if you cut it in half and weld the two halves on site, replacing only the half that affects the ratchet that has jammed? Has anyone ever tried?
