Default After 17 years of ownership...

the time finally came to move on to something a little newer. the old hurricane had served me well, and now hopefully she will for many years to come with her new owner... i remember seeing the commercial for the hurricane and the tag line "even a ninja must hide from the hurricane" and knew i had to have one.

i had that same feeling in the Jacob Javits Center in NYC during the winter of 2000 looking at the RC51 spinning on a raised turntable, i just had to have one... now i do.

she is a 2003 RC51 with 9000 miles, and a few goodies. the sound and power of this bike is just incredible... not as comfey as the hurricane, tiny pillon seat, and lower gas milage, but a V-Twin roar that sounds like a musclecar...

I know what you mean, sold my trusty steed ('93 - CBR1000F) to a guy in Florida last month although he has paid for most of it he hasn't picked it up yet. I got the bug a couple years ago , had to have the biggest fastest thing out at the time. So this is what I bought.
Here is a pic of my old ride too.

I looked at and rode a 51 but it seemed a little small for me . but the sweet sound they make , nothing better!!
maybe a "Duck" 998 but way to much $$$$$. Did you hear about the guy they clocked in Minnesota from a plane doing a claimed 205 mph from the plane cop?

he was on a RC51 (but not doing 205mph), it was modded but not enough to do the claimed 205. plane cop had an itchy stopwatch finger I am guessing

It's been awhile since I've posted... Sorry to see your hurricane go. I learned alot from it for mods on my own. (Oh, the front tire is awesome! Thanks!) I've been busy going through the carbs. Anyone got an extra set the want to sell?.... That's in another post. I'd like to move on to a newer bike also. But I can't get the wife to agree. I'd like a triumph daytona 650, or a Yamaha R1( older model). Anyways... The RC51 looks great!
