90 CBR1000 runs but poorly...
Smoothness is achieved after a vacuum balance. (setting the butterflies)
I had bench sync'ed the throttle blades, and fixed the bent choke actuator. I ordered some new intake to cylinder head boots from Service Honda. I'm just waiting on the parts to get here so I can see if i fixed everything.
Has anyone re routed the carb vent tubes away from the bottom of the bike with any success? I had t'ed the two lines into one and ran a single line to the top of the airbox. Its alot easier getting the air box in the bike without worring about pinching vents that way.
The other question i have is... how do you know the gas tank vent is working properly.I did recall a hissing noise shortly after the engine was shut off. Maybe this forced the fuel out of the vent tube??

If you can buy or download the official Honda Manual, page 1-24 shows correct application and routing of vacuum lines. If you have a California model, page 1-25 shows correct routing of all those lines. If you hear hissing during running, check for missing caps on the balance ports on the carbs.
The noise is after the engine is shut off or dies, like the gas tank get pressurized. When It does run well enough to take gas while twisting the throttle, it " dumps" gas out the vent tube under deceleration.
