I agree 100% with CBRclassic, we are trying to be as serious as possible. We are trying to describe sounds that riders may encounter. A tinkel is something that you can live with for example while a KA-THUDA-BUMP-BANG will bring a grown man to his knees crying. In the cane forum advice for a tinkel is diffrent than KA-THUDA-BUMP-BANG. When a tinkel is encountered, the rider is advised to keep riding the bike until the tinkel is found, unlike the KA-THUDA-BUMP-BANG where the rider is advised to pull to the shoulder and pull the tags form the bike and start walking never looking back.

D'you have a radiator cover ? Sometimes the bolts work loose on the screen and it buzzes, or the tabs break. NOT a camchain issue, unless they've moved yours to your radiator...
What does the rattle sound like ?.... technical descriptions below ...
metallic ? ( tinkle tinkle chinka chinka, )
or plastic-ie ? ,( buzzzz click buzzz) )
Wot no plastic rubbing zzzzzt, zzzt ?
GOTTA LOVE IT (falls over laffin, chokes on morning coffee)

I do believe that it is Radiator related, I held it and it Stopped. Did check my clutch lever but was not the source.

RE: '88 CBR1000F, Horrible Rattling!
Sense of Humor sour'ing here,...
...By the way, it is a rattle, not a ticking, literally a rattling sound that again comes and goes.
If I could possibly describe it, well, it'd be a Rattle, not a tinkle tinkle chinka chinka,
buzzzz click buzzz, zzz..squeerk...zzz..squeerk, or a clinkle ....clinkle....clinkle.
It also is not a **** sound, but a ****ty sound (only w/ a ticking like RATTLE!)
Thanks, again...
...I'll keep you Butt-Nuggets informed, For Crying out loud, LOL!

ME ?
Trouble maker ?
I'm hurt.....................cut to the quick, wounded in my very sould.[X(]
You're all a WUNCH...........
Never heard of a Wunch ?
A wunch of bankers..........
Butt nuggets ? Noooooooooooooooo
I prefer fudge ferret if you wanna be a nasty boy ![8D]
Klunka klunka bump thud isn't good.
Skweezell chiggle zzzzzzzzz pop isn't quite so bad though.
But very very worst is
silence, when the bugger won't run at all..............not a chiggle, klunka, chirrup or pop in sight.
There are some chrome pipes in the rad area that may be loose, and transmitting the zzzzzzzzzzzzz-ting leaf type sound to your frame. Check the wheegees for movement.
