Thanks for the kind words and advice everyone! ![Icon Beerchug](https://cbrforum.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_beerchug.gif)
I kinda thought that the silencers didn't look right... I reckon I'll hang on to the covers for the time being and see what comes up.
I was gonna ask what oil you guys would recommend for her, but that's been answered as well - cheers! She doesn't appear to be losing any oil at all, as far as I can see, but that, along with a new chain and sprocket set is next on the cards... There's a Scottoiler fitted, but it doesn't look like it's worked in a good long time, judging by the semi-seized link I found and the general patina of rust and abuse I spotted the day after I got her home! I didn't even check the chain that night, simply because the chap said it had a Scottoiler fitted! DOH!
Ah well... we live and learn.
I suspected that the cam chain might be an issue - I'd been lurking a little before managing to get my account on here working and had read up on some of the horror stories some ppl have had with the cc and cct's on their machines... I'm not too hot with the spanners myself, and it's making me wonder if the cost of a mechanic to split the engine and do the job right might work out more than grabbing a new motor with hopefully less issues and transplanting it in there... We'll see.
Right - time to get the old girl out and head off to work.
Catch you all later!
