87 1000f rebuild: Project ugly girl
Hey man,
Just read through this thread with some down time at work :P Looks great. Really shows the time and effort put into this. Hope all is well at your end of the country.
I was glad to get to the end of this thread tho. It seems everytime I read a complete rebuild like this, when the guy puts in endless hours of work - I get to a point in the thread where he states "it's totalled". Nothing worse than seeing 2 years of work go out the window.
Ride hard and keep the rubber side down man.

I read that thread too, what a heartbreaker!
pmcg did good.
So I really did enjoy my time on the CBR. After several thousand trouble free miles I hit a deer. I'm fine and so is the bike, mostly. The frame has some scrapes and the right side mirror is gone but thankfully I wasn't going much over 25. The bike still has a good title and I have a ton of parts. I bought a new, used, ZZR1200 and will be selling the CBR. I figured that since this forum was so great in getting it running I would see if anyone here is interested.
I have a really nice Works Ultra Sport rear shock that literally has 10 miles on it since the rebuild from Works. I had works rebuild and set it up for my weight 185LBS and the possibility of a passenger.
I have a spare motor, untitled roller frame with swing arm wheels and forks. Extra exhaust and a ton of stuff I'm forgetting.
Bike still runs and rides fine. Let me know if you're interested or need any parts. I'm in NJ.
Thanks

Wow, I'm so very glad you are ok pmcg!
And sad you are selling the 1000f. However, the ZZR1200 should make up for the loss!
You do need to show us some pictures though, damage to the CBR1000F and the new ride.
Cheers, SB

Be VARY careful on the ZZR or the man will be giving you a ticket and it won't be to the policeman's ball. That right wrist will get you in trouble fast if you nit careful.
Stop by the saloon for a visit.

Walter
