Default 1988 CBR1000F Alternator removal question......

Firstly guys my apologies for missing the point so far in regard to the question....I have hunted the answer on the forum and maybe you could point me in the right direction?. ..I cannot work out how to remove the alternator..the engine is on the bench and starter removed..the three bolts are loosened/out and there is a nut (pic 2) that would look as though it needs to be removed?..can you help please?
Many thanks in advance,
Peter.

Start here...................

And come back with any questions you have.

What are you trying to fix?

Unhappy Thank you........

For the reply re. the alternator removal, I have seen this but looked (physically) like a different alternator...if this is definately the one for my '88, then I will give it a further go. The three bolts were removed easily as were the three thin (outside) screws holding the (outside) cover on...but nothing really gives still...??..
Thank you for the help and will reply re. progress....as for the reason, I am rebuilding from the frame up, going well and would like to remove the alt. to sandblast the motor before reassembly and refit...AND referring to pic 1..I have had "help" doing this and now have to find where the broken piece of the outside frame of the unit is, and make sure it does not interfere with the running of the alternator.......
Cheers,
Peter.

Yes that is the nut you have to remove, while stopping the alternator from turning, as in photo 3 of the stu.co.nz lnk, which is a great how-to except for the alternator reinstallation part. The following link shows how to reinstall without using a mallet!
