Was wondering if a blackbird motor would bolt up to a 96 1000f frame? same frame on both bikes i believe??? also, what other motors will fit?

Sorry different frames completely. Only motors that bolt into a 96 are 93-96 1000F

I know what you are going to say but, I installed a 98 cbr1000f engine in my 88 cbr1000f it was a perfect match for the frame. yes I am sure it is a 98 the serial # confirmed it I was skeptical too. I had a discussion with a board member a few months ago that put a 1000 rr engine in a cbr1000f frame he said it was not a prob lem if you can weld.

the OP was saying bolt up, which to me means no cutting and welding required

Default ...

No cutting or welding would be nice, i have the tools and am actually a welder by trade, but have no clue when it comes to engine fitment... was just trying to figure out an alternative because the motor in my 1kf(96) is pretty much shot i think... i found a crack in the lower end of the motor after i tore it down because i thought the head gasket was bad. Any ideas on where to get good motors at reasonable prices??? or an easy swap with little or no modification to the frame?
