Default Luggage

I gear EVERY time I go out regardless of distance. My current set up is just a JanSport back pack. It is nice but does not help on the cooling factor. I am debating between a tail bag or saddle bags. I am a engineering student, for another year at least, and need to carry large books and my 15" Dell laptop with me (laptop is optional with some classes but not all).

What are your thoughts and opinions on this?

I use the Sport Tail Bag from Tourmaster for that type of thing...
http://www.tourmaster.com/xcart/cata...-p-148_31.html . Your laptop will go right in there. You can carry it like a briefcase bag, or use the shoulder strap.

I also have the TriBag Tail bag (mini duffle) but only use that for trips b/c its more bulky. I only use the Tourmaster saddlebags for trips as well.

Not that you would but don't put your laptop in a tank bag. The magnets will play hell w/ your computer. Also, I wouldn't put my laptop in a saddlebag either...being on the side of your bike like that increases the chance of damage.

Good luck shopping.

for the laptop I suggest you use a backpack anyway because you are still a much better shock absorber then the seat.

about the tail bag, make sure you can actually fit inside all the things , especially A4 size papers if you need. I had to buy a specific tank bag for that (and since graduated and replaced the bike ).
