HID burning out?

HID burning out?
Alright, i've got an HID kit on my bike, and, I've started to notice that, sometimes, the light shuts off. I'm just curious as to if when an HID bulb starts to go, does it start to flicker? Or, does it just go out all together? The light comes on when I start the bike, and, after a little riding, (5 minutes or so) i check, and, it's off. I've pulled over and tried wiggling all the wires, but, to no avail. THe only way to get it back on, is to turn the bike off for a sec, then, restart it. Anybody able to help me?

RE: HID burning out?
Probably the bulb is going out on you. How long have you had it? What is the color of the arc tube inside the HID bulb? They start out usually a white dusty color, and end up black by the end of their life. Typically OEM bulbs last 2000 hours, but they don't burn out like OEM bulbs, merely are at 50% of their original lumen output at that point. HID bulbs don't burn out, they will still light up when they're waaayyyy useless as far as light output is concerned.
What brand is the bulb/ballst? I assume it's a plug and play kit, i.e. not an OEM setup? Nowadays they sell the replacement bulbs... sort of... they have a generic AMP connector which many of the newer HID kits use, but it's not gauranteed.
