Default 2003 CBR 954 wheel questions.

Hey everyone, another newbie to this forum with a question that has probably been asked a bunch, so if you know the right thread, link me! I would appreciate anyone who can help out here!

So, i have a 2003 954 and i want to spice up the wheel department a little, but i honestly dont care too much for the design of the stock 3 spoke wheel. So i ask this, are there any other wheels that will fit on my bike with ease? Dont matter to me what year or make they are as long as they fit. I really like the ZX10R wheels. I never tried to put Kawi or Gixxer wheels on a Honda before and im not even sure if its possible. If it is, let me know what i have to do to make it happen. I also really like the new CBR1000 wheels.

thanks everyone!

I've seen people put zx14 wheels on a 1000rr (should be easily able to do it on a 954), and a LOT of people have put RC51 rims on their 954's.

I don't like the 3 spoke rim either. I can't help but think of this:

GSXR rims are 3 spokes too - btw.

The newer 1krr wheels - I know the hub on the front is much narrower. So I'm not sure you'd be able to do it because there aren't 330mm rotors for it - and the rotor spacing would be way off because of the narrower hub.

Actually i got measurements from some rim (never 600RR or 1000RR) and the rotor spacing, center hole of the disc and bolt pattern should be the same. It should be pretty easily done whit right bearings and spacers but you would need some measurements to confirm that. I think that the rim i got the measurements were from 08 600RR. It was allso much narrower from the hub.

They have been narrowing the triple trees every generation since the 954 - so maybe it will fit.

Yep. Like i said more measurements would be needed to confirm that. It was little over 1 year ago when i was searching a front rim for my friend to a 954. If i remember correct the axle was 22 mm and thats way my friend didn't wan't it. Other wise it would have fitted whit custom spacers. So probably 600RR rim.

rc51 wheels swapped onto a 03 954, is it doable and easy? - Honda Motorcycles - FireBlades.org

Basically, you're swapping wheel bearings on the front and making a new spacer. The rear is a direct swap.

Awesome! i think this is definitely Do-able for me. I cant thank you enough for the advice and information you found. All i gotta do now is find a set of decent rims for 500 or less. I want to powdercoat them to look like they are anodized red to match the rest of the theme i got going for my bike! Thanks again!

No problem man, that's what we're here for! I wanted to do it, then I changed my mind and went SSSA. It'll look great. Do a write up and post some pictures as you do it or when you do it. Can't wait to see it
