after some serious inspection yesterday there is an HID box installed (you mite see the gold box in the background at the top)

is this an HID H4?

So its a HID low beam with a halogen high beam.. but your original plan was to convert to HIDs, right? So I have to ask what is wrong with the current setup? Color? Brightness?
I have never used the HID/halogen setup before.. just a bilevel HID on a car.... this seems like a good idea, but who knows on the quality as HIDs (especially on ebay) are hit or miss.

 

The HID box your talking about is most likely the ballast.
I haven't heard many good things about those HID/halogen H4 bulbs.
www.ddmtuning.com is your best bang for your buck as their H4 bulbs just move the bulbs position electronically inside the headlight housing producing the hi-beam.


Are these the ones you just bought or the ones that were previously installed?

 

the one you see there is the old one, i actually called a mechanic and found a high quality h4 hi/lo bulb. turns out the guy who i bought my bike from went for a chinese one, the colour was **** and the brightness was brutal. the HID box he had installed on the other hand is fully functioning. after a ton of re-wiring i have managed to successfully get an h4 hi/lo 8000k bulb in there, looks stunning

So you went for another HID bulb but with a built in hi/low at 8000k?

The kit in your controller supports the hi/low function? Pretty cool.. and lucky!
