Default shaft or rotary style damper

i've been looking at two different dampers. the both are made by ohlins, but two different types.
1. the ohlins "shaft" damper
2. scotts "rotary" style damper (made by ohlins for scotts USA)

whats the pros/cons, advantages/disadvantages to either style type? any input is great, but don't try to suggest any other brands...i'm not interested; i'm just not.

PS,
the cheapest prices i've found were on kneedraggers. or unless people are interested in a group buy? any reccomendations on vendors i can ask to hook us up?
