Default F3 in f2 frame carb boot question

Just a little background info I have a f2 that i recently swapped to a 98 f3 drivetrain including f3 carbs. The stock f3 carb boots will not work they are to tall. the motor I pulled was a 96 and had shorter carb boots that gave enough clearance for the tps on the side of the carbs. So my question...did 95-96 have shorter boots or do I have f2 boots?

For the boot, 95 & 96 have part# 16211-MAL-600, 97 & 98 have 16211-MAL-A00 so I am guessing there may be some sort of difference, but I don't know what.

Went to the Honda dealer today they had 2 f2 boots in stock. I brought my old one with me and they matched right up. 60 bucks for all 4.

the f2 boots are about 3/8 inch shorter than my stock 98 ones. I can't get the throttle sensor to fit with the 98 boots.
