i'm looking to put a solo race tail on my f2, the kind that utilizes the foam pad as the seat. my question is what do i do about weight support? is there a bracket that i can buy to support my heavy ***? i need to know i can get this bracket before i order the tail. anyone have luck with this race tail upgrage? i don't have any bodywork for the bike, and this solo tail is a wanted option, i just need to know where to get a bracket.

 

I bought a airtech solo seat, and I had to fabricate my own brackets. Basically I made 2 "L" brackets that I bolted to the subframe.

 

i had the same idea so i called airtech and they said you have to fab something up. they don't sell anything.

 

Actually if you want more flexibility...you want more bodywork pieces...not less...

When I get through with mine...I post the pics of course...

The rear is gonna be high enough and the cowl placed tight enough...that even though I am not going to uncover the seat...or saw away any foam...it will be thin enough that at first glance...it looks all foam...like the latest race seats..

 

I also had to fabricate my own support for my F3.
It's a simple design, and I bolted it to some existing threaded holes.
I later painted it black, in case you wondered.

thanks but i lost my patience and bought the solo seat airtech. the one that slides over the stock seat. figured when i sell it, it will have a little more appeal to someone that wants to impress a chick. not that it would right now but someday

 

Gunmar, ****en sweet bike man. Thats basicly how I want mine to look when its finished, exept it wont be as clean [rashed/stunted/flatpaint]!! What brand is that tail? How much dows it cost?

 

Thanks! I don't know who made the tail, but I got it on ebay as part of a full set.
The set can be found HERE and will set you back up to $433 I think (they are on auction sometimes, not only Buy it now).
They're not very high quality, and I had lots of prep work on them... As for the tail, I reinforced it by applying a couple layers of fibreglass on the inside.
My front fender is made by Sebimoto, and is of a different quality. Different as in better and cleaner.
