CBR600 history
Dear all,
I'm making an study about CBR600 all model years and versions but there are some models I can't find which difference exists between them.
My biggest bottleneck is to identify if there is any difference of weight and/or power between CBR 600 FR1/FS1/FR2/FS2 commonly known as CBR 600 F Rossi version from '01/'02 and CBR 600 S also from '01/'02.
If anyone can help me would be great!!!!
Thank to all

hey there :-)
your nomenclature is somewhat confusing to me as I have not heard of those models, I am in the UK and we had CBR600F1/F2/F3/F4/F4i and F4i Sport
The F2 model was F(M) through to F(R) then the F3 was F(s) through to F(W) before the F4
Now the CBR600F from 2001 had a mainstand here, then they did the Sport version which only had the side stand and was supposedly easier to tune for racing etc. it was all a bit mininal the difference ...basically you bought an F4i or a later RR if you wanted to see/feel a real difference .. I can get more info for you if need be :-)

ha, good old California models, my wife's first bike was an 88 250 ninja, it had that can on the side and the extra hoses, got the manual, reset the vacuum lines, configured like the non CA model......bye bye emission can =)
she still has it....but now rode my hurricane this year.....doesnt want the 250 anymore

What about these guys...

Were these just for the German market... I am not sure.
Reduced effect - In some countries certain motorcycle models are sold with less horse power to comply with legal or insurance regulations in that country. For instance, a country might allow 16-year-olds to drive 125 ccm bikes with no more than 15 hp. The bike would then have to be modified to output no more than 15 hp. In another example insurance companies may not want to insure bikes with more than 100 hp, or may increase insurance rates for these bikes to the extent that most people would want to buy a reduced-effect version of their bike instead.

1998 was the last year of the F3 ... in 1999 the carbed F4 arrived with alloy frame and new engine, you could still get F3's that were registered late in 1999, you know, new old stock ...
In 2000 the F4i came out and having ridden both the F4i is a big improvement, some of the original F4s had a flat spot that was not present on the F3.
Hope this helps
