Default catalytic converter removal?

i have a jardinert-1 slip on on my bike now and i was wondering if it would be possible to take the header off of an older year 600rr and put it on my bike so i would get rid of the cat? i would obviously be messing with air flow and causing problems that i would think could be fixed by making acustom map for my pc3. also im not sure if california is the only state that uses the cat and if so i could just get a stock header from an out of state bike if anyone knows anything thanks

Not sure, but I've heard that Cali either IS or is going to start emissions on newer bikes... if so, that would make you fail emissions... any idea whats up with Cali and that possible law?
