Default Anyone shaved their seat?

Wanting to lower my bike a little to be able to flat foot at a red light. Really do not want to go through getting lowering links.....raising tht front forks....and buy a new kick stand. Did that to my 01 GSX-R.....which turned out to be expensive and a pain to reset everything to stock when I sold it.

Heard of people buying a gel seat for their bike (which is thinner than stock) but cannot find one for a 99 F4. So I am thinking of shaving the stock seat down. Has anyone done this? Pros? Cons? Also should I shave the seat down and leave it or shave even more and replace the stock foam with memory foam or a gel pad and then recover it?

Dude Just tip toe it or lean on one foot. doin all that justfor red lights sounds a bit much. Think about it, how long are you really at a red light?

Well...if it makes him feel comfortable doing it, then do it. It's really all up to you. Search the forums for shaving seats. I think there's a "how-to" thread on it.

Well you're in luck...

When I bought my bike the guy I bought it from was shorter, 5'5" or so I think, and he had shaved the seat down on the 99F4 I bought. It was about an inch or so lower seat height wise. I bought a new seat last year and still have the shave seat in my garage. If you're interested in buying it I'll give you a deal on it, I'm not doing anything with it, had contimplated using it to make a carbon fiber look seat or something. Like I said, I'd sell it if you'd like to buy it for lets say $20 plus shipping from Ohio. Let me know, I can take pics of it also if you'd like.
