there is a diy or a write up on several of these.. if you do a search on google you will get a ton of hits with lots of information.. but what u need is some aluminum to make brackets for the fairings and a lot of time. some people chop off there tail section and get the sub frame for the 600rr. i just hacked mine up, made a support for the passenger seat, and welded away.its not hard just time consuming IMO..

Before you spend that much money on new fairings send me a pm or find me on youtube. The F3/F4I fairings was rather easy to make and I am sure you can make it also.

I've got a 98 f3 and have been taking in as much information before going forward.. I like the 600rr tail, but I think the stock f3 matches more naturally with the f4 front... although its a bit bulky and if you want a single swing arm the RR tail is a better bet.

I do have a question. I've not seen which year the f4i fairings are coming off of? or does it matter?

I'm a pretty hands on guy, and wouldn't mind taking a step towards some more custom like VALKYIE's f4. I'd love to do the single swing arm, but i think that would be something to do later.

The big question was really with regards to the year the f4i fairings came from.

Many thanks!

For the font fairing you can use any year F4i, for the side fairings the f4 and f4i are the same.

by the way, that is a 97-98 tail. it IS NOT a direct bolt on like everyone was saying. the undertail from the 95-96 is completely diffrerent. everything did not line up at all and i was very frustrated because i heard from here that it would be a direct bolt on.
If you get the undertail, it's an easy swap. I tried to adapt the old under tail and felt like setting fire to the bike. After getting the correct parts though it was pretty straightforward. Because I dropped my bike the tail was a fractions out of alignment and the 97 stuff was a bitch to get on. The old f2 stuff was *miles* more fault tolerant. This being said, it looks cool. :-)
