Hey guys, new to the forum and to the biking world as well. Anyways I purchased a 96f3 that has a 94f2 motor in it. The guy I got it from was telling me that the f3 speedo connects to the tranny it self, and on the f2 it uses a magneto pick up on the front tire? Either way it doesn't work and I was wondering if someone could lead me in the right way to get this thing to work...or what I would have to do to get a speedometer? Thanks for the help!

 

The F2 has a gear driven speedo from the front tire, the F3 has the digital electricspeedo from the tranny.

I dont know for sure, but it sounds like you'll either have to get an F2 front end (downgrade) or try to figure out how to hook up the electric one to the F2 motor.

There is probably a way to do it, I wonder why they put an F2 motor in instead of an F3 or even F4... they lost about 10hp by downgrading!
