Default Yoshi Rs-1 Question?

I want to shorten my rs-1 on my 02 f4i. Can anyone tell me if I can cut it from the bottom or do I have to do it from the top and re-drill the Logo? Any help would be great.

thanks.

Actually I should be riding in march too....hopefully? We usually get one last big snowfall sometime in March though. Then I will have to wait for some rain to wash away all the salt.
