Default Vortex front sprocket question.

Hey guys, I'm in the process of installing a 520 conversion on my bike. Everything was going fine until I got to the front sprocket. The stock sprocket is symetrical on both sides, the new sprocket (15t vortex 520 pitch) is wider on one side vs the other (the teeth of the sprocket are offset to one side). The thicker side has the vortex imprinting on it, so I figured that would go out, but I'm not sure. Has anyone run into this?

Heres an example of what I mean, The |:| represents the teeth, and the | the sides of the sprocket.
|-|:|--|

Thanks guys!

I did the 520 on my 954 and I was told the Vortek imprenting should face out that will make it line up correctly. It may be diff on the 600 I can not say for sure but if you call them they can tell you. I used a lazer level the make sure I had them in line too.

Thats what I figured. Plus, it shows how many teeth the sprocket has, which would make sense to be out so you could easily reference it. Thanks!

Default RE: Vortex front sprocket question.

Interesting... I too had a problem when installing my vortex front sprocket. I went -1 in the front, and kept the 525 width because I had a friend who did the 520 and then in the 3rd gear stand up wheelie the chain went and not only did the bike come crashing down (he did not drop it he is pro) but the chain whipped and cracked the block in half on its way out. Anyways, the chain was not meshing properly, and there was much more play in it over stock. I called the place I got it from and they confirmed that it was the proper sprocket, but it just seemed a little strange to me. As for your issue, imprinting out.
