"tuning" F4/F4i computer?

oh you thread, rise from the dead!!! 
....sooo, after all these years:
1. has anyone researched & found a way to alter the stock maps of the F4i ECU (maybe freeing and scraping the PCB at some place to solder a communication plug)
or
2.or this whole issue is still in the "get a PC/Bazzaz/Blahblah piggyback box" or "get a blank programmable ECU and stop searching" territory?
