Hey, I'm planning on buying either an F4 or F4i and I was just wondering about the differences between the two. I know the F4i is injected and is a little lighter, but are there any real changes in the engine or anything like that?

 

First off welcome to the Board! if you havent already done so try a search on this topic, odds are you'll find some posts? If your planning on getting one or the other id strongly rec the F4i, unless you have limited $ then maybe the F4. Major diff of course is the Fuel Injection. HEY I JUST BOUGHT AN F4I AND I LOVE IT... IT MAKES YOU FEEL LIKE YOUR MORE OF A PRO THAN YOU REALLY ARE I THINK THAT'S COOL...MY BOY HAS AN F4 AND IT FEELS A LITTLE MORE BULKY TO ME... the only difference is the EFI and fairings. Dunno wtf ppl get its lighter lol, if it is its not enough to make a difference. Same dimensions etc.

cosmetics mostly. There are a few engine differences necessary to inject it like sensor on exhaust cam(different Head), different timing points, different transmission gear ratio, a couple other things but for the most part there the same.
