Hi all.

I've recently bought some new grips for my 600f and can't get the throttle side to fit. The throttle grip has heavy knurling on the plastic, which means the new grips won't go over it. The old (standard Honda) grips were practically moulded around it.

Does anyone know where I can get a replacement throttle cover for the 2013 600f? Does it have to be a smooth cover? As you can tell, i've not changed grips before.

They can be very tight to get on and I don't mind using a few bubbles from soapy water to help if the normal struggles persist, followed with a hair drying and manipulating them.
I guess now everyone's saying noooo to this but I've changed loads like this and always do a neat job in wiring them on as well. Let's face it, nobodies gonna laugh if one comes off in your hand lol.

I know this is an old thread, but I am sure someone will come in here looking for info.

I just did this and yea, its a total pain in the ***.

I have compressed air, and this helps, but it can be done with out.

I trimmed off all the outside end projections(for lack of a better word). Little blade like protrusions from the very last(outside) row on the throttle side tube.

Then I used some 60 grit sand paper to smooth them out even further and chamfer the end to make it easy to start the new grips going on.

Then I used soapy water on the inside of the grip and on the throttle tube.

Have someone else on the other side of the bike, holding the triple tree and bars with their thigh against the tank. push and turn. push and turn. turn and push. just keep at it, and it will go on.
