Tail light? Will this work.

First take a look at that product.
Now my question is my buddie has a '08 600rr. But if i remember correctly his brake light is mounted on the fender, just above the Licenses plate. So how does this work? Will it even work work or is it a wrongly labeled product?
Reason why im asking here and not just go and looking at his bike is im planning on this as a christmas present because he has told me he likes how my '07 1000rr's tail light is.

if you closely at the tail section you can see how it is a seperate piece of plastic. where the light is on the product you have to cut that out of the OEM piece. and actually you can do the same thing if you have a 03-06 cbr 600 rr tail light.
