ANY ONE KNOW WHAT YEAR UNDERTAIL LIGHT (FACTORY BRAKE ONLY"OEM") WILL FIT ON THE 07 600RR?IS IT OFF A PREVIOUS YEAR 600RR? I'VE SEENIT MODED ONAN 08 AND THOUGHTOFMODDING MY O7 TO REMOVE THE FACTORY BRAKE LIGHT, BLINKER, AND INSTALL A FENDERELIMINATOR. I'VE SEEN KITS FORWITH THE INTEGRATED BLINKERS BUT AM INTERESTED INGOING WITH THE FACTORY UNDER TAIL INSTEAD,AS I WILL BE INSTALLINGBLINKERS ELSE WHERE. ALSO DOES THE TAIL SECTION HAVE TO BE MODIFIED, TRIMMED OR SOMETHING TO MAKE IT FIT AND BOLT ON.

 

1. Caps makes my eyes hurt.

2. Down to buisness. Any previous (01-06) RR tail light will work. However, you need to modify the light for it to fit properly, and 95% of the time you'll still have a gap at the very tip of your tail on the underside. It's hard to see... but it will be there. (I looked heavily into this as well) Any tail light from the previous (pre-07/08) will work just fine. There is one other option...

3. Use a light, like the modified light, only it was designed specificly FOR the 07/08 CBR600RR's. No modifying of the tail light (you still must modify the plastic in the tail). Click this link ==>HERE<== To see what I'm talking about.

 

THANKS FOR THE INFO. SO REGARDLESS I WILL NEED TO MODIFY THE TAIL RIGHT? EVEN WHEN USING 01-06 RR FACTORY TAILLIGHT? WHAT DO I MODIFY ON THE LIGHT?

 

Either way, if you plan on putting a light in the actual tail itself, then yes, you will have to modify it. You will have to cut off a portion of the "battery tray" (the black, underside piece). It's not very hard, just take your time and follow instructions. Modifying the bikes tail must be done in either case, slightly more modification (and chance for "stretch") for the 01-06RR light.

Modifications to the light involve cutting off a "tab" that the old light has and sanding down the curves of the sides so it will fit in there better. This modification (not present on the custom made one I linked you) for the 01-06 tail light can cause issues with the installation of a rear cowl and/or the rear seat. However, if you want to go the route of the older RR light, I reccomend going to www.tripageled.com. They make a full "kit" that already has the modified light with all the neccisary hardware to mount it.
