Sprockets
This may be a stpuid request but no one has really told me how to pop the clucth or "bounce" it correctly i have just assumed things and tried it on my own so maybe that is the problem...i have watched all the "how to" videos and they are good but i guess i still dont get it.....could anyone give me a step by step play on how to clutch a wheelie and how to bounce a wheelie?????
Thank You!!!
Thank You!!!
lang mang....careful...don't loop it with that set up!
ok for bouncing it up...say you're just riding in first, around 5-10 miles per hour...then throttle it, not WOT, but just enough to unload the front end...so like it's bouncing up...but not off the ground. as the front comes back down, it will compress. at the bottom of the compression, gas it...and the front will come up. it's all timing.
now for clutch...don't do it in first...start in second...ride and go like 7K...pull in the clutch and at same time gas it pretty good, the engine will rev up to 11K or 12K, then slip the clutch out but keep your hand on the gas...and the front comes up...too scary if you ask me mang...when i tried this way, i would get in arguments with mah wife all the time because it leaves $#1t stains in mah shorts!!!

someone has to show u really cuz explaining it is not too easy...i use my clutch all the time even from the 2-3mph take off wheelies but in 2nd im running 50-55mph and clutch and i can go but im still learning how to transfer my weight to help from the "wobble" effect...a friend of mine got it up in 3rd but he's taller and weighs more than i do, but I will get there soon, it's all about transfer ur weight and keeping ur weight transfer balanced with the bike at balance point...you'll know when u get there cuz it feels good.. balance point is the point where the bike is at total balance on the back wheel but dont go over it cuz its kinda scary and u might have to choke the throttle back or even use a litle back break to keep u from flipping, ive been riding for 5 years and i have finally have a bike i can do something on (250ninja was kinda hard ;o)
When i bounce, it's always the same---i just vary my gear selection and speed. I have the 520 -1/+2 setup that you mentioned, so here's how it goes for me.
1st gear: lol bounce it if you want, but if you're standin up, the tire will come up by itself.
2nd gear: Get to about 6000 RPMs, stand up, and then do this:
-Bounce down on the bike
-As the forks start to travel back up, lean back, pull, and give it gas
-As it comes up, attempt to lock out your knees and arms--this will allow you to move your weight to the back, and also lets you balance the bike with the throttle
Note: This is all done in a fluid motion, and when you get good at it, will look like it all happens at one time. Try to avoid leaning forward as the bike comes up---you will push the bike back down without meaning to. Also, the balance point feels like it is too far back at first. It will take a while of feeling like you're gonna fall over backwards before you find it.
3rd gear: Same thing, but at 8000 rpm's
That's my bike, but it'll be different for yours. That's a starting point though.
