Shortening jardine dual?

Shortening jardine dual?

Does anyone know if I can shorten the distance about 2-4 inches that the exhaust sticks out from the tail?

with the heat problems jardine has already had I wouldnt do it, might melt ya cone. maybe shorten the mide pipe or somethin
