Regearing: what sprocket size???
I know that there are numerous posts out there regarding sprocket sizes for regearing, but I thought it would me much easier to ask in a new post rather than search all day. I have an 01 F4i with the 520 conversion currently -1 in front. I am going to regear this winter and stay with -1 in front but I dont know if +2 or +3 would be better in the back. I know most people have the +2 set-up and wondered why people chose the +2 over the +3. Would I get that much more noticalbe acceleration from the +3 when compared to the +2? I want to get the best result out of this change without making the bike rev to the moon while at crusing speeds. I am also aware that I will need a speedo healer.

RE: Regearing: what sprocket size???
i have the -1+2 set up and its doin about 6500rpm at 100km/h(60mile/h) and te pick up from a stand still is huge... if you go more than that then you are going to be reving to the moon, as you say,.. i think the final drive of the -1+2 set up is 3.33, whiles standard is 2.72... so you will loose top end, but get to it alot quicker, alli need now is a speedo healer...

RE: Regearing: what sprocket size???
thanks for the fast response. I should probably go with the -1 +2 set-up. my current -1 gearing revs around 6000 RPM at 60 MPH so this new set-up would not make my RPMs that much higher. As for top speed, I never have anywhere long enough without bumps of traffic to get in the way. I hit top speed once at the limiter going downhill and the speedo read 171 so it was probably more like 165 or something. I would much rather have the acceleration than the top speed.
