Default messing with transmission

I would like to "regear?" my transmission to have better acceleration. I know I can't do this myself but has anyone done it and where can I learn about this -1, -2, -3, +1, +2, +3 stuff that everyone is talking about? I just don't have the obsession for going 300mph or however fast my bike can go I'd rather accelerate faster. If I want more top speed Ill get a liter bike. Any websites that can teach me about that stuff that anyone knows of?

Thanks

Mike

You need to change your sprockets and chain to get what you wanna do. Just do a search on the forum, there's tons of stuff on conversion kits and how to do it yourself.

Yeah, the - on the front and + on the rear sprocket just means how many less or more teeth than the stock sprockets. It seems that -1 on the front and +2 on the rear are pretty popular.

Their are definately alot of posts on this topic, and I think I've scene every one of them . Basically, I'd say either do -1 on the front, stock on the rear or -1 on the front, and +2 on the rear. Go with the later if you really want to wheelie. Me personally, I went with just -1 on the front to keep the front end down as much as I can. It's an easy mod. Just make sure you have stands (or atleast a rear stand) and a good set of sockets. Also, if you do this mod, look into doing a 520 chain conversion.
