Default Lowering the handle bars on the 2012 cbr 600rr

Can this be done?

I contacted the dealer and received the information that this wasn't recommended due to a safety issue with pins and such in the front fork.

Is there another way to go about this?

Any feedback is recommended.

Why are you wanting to lower the bars? And how how much?

I enjoy a really aggressive riding position and would only want to lower them an inch or so (because the fairing wouldn't allow much more I'd think).

If your front tire is a 70 series, change it to a 60. That will get you a little bit lower in the front. Otherwise you're going to have to do it in the fork springs.

lowering strap...$20

BEFORE I GET FLAMED let me say, to each his own and everyone has an opinion about these BUT i've used these on both of my drag bikes (hayabusa's) and have drove 50,000+ miles combined on the highway with them in place with NO issues.

That doesn't mean things cant happen, such as forks bottoming out or strap coming loose etc. but it hasn't happened to me. So there is a cheap alternative for you to think about.

cheers!

Hey thanx for the comments and suggestions guys. I also recently found this vid. Do you guys think this'd be a safe and o.k. way to go about this?

Do you have inverted forks? The guy in the vid does not. That's the cheesy way to lower the front, but even that way won't work with USD forks.
