Default Just A Few Questions...

Hi guys, I love the look of the 03-04 600RR but really don't like the price...

I'm new to sportbikes and I recently bought my first sportbike, a 1998 FZR 600R. I really didn't like the look of it at all so I bought some parts for a mod I want to do.

-03/04 CBR 600 RR Fiberglass Track Fairings
-03/04 Headlight Assembly
-03/04 Wind Screen
-03/04 Seat

I was wondering a few things though...

1) Im guessing the fairing stay (bracket that holds the gauge cluster, headlights, and front fairings to the bike) comes in one piece correct? Also, would the F4 fairing stay be able to hold all of my CBR 600 RR parts?

Thanks for your help! My buying selection is rather limited because Im poor and mainly trying to use craigslist over the much higher priced fleabay -.-

Even if you were rich I think you are going to go crazy trying to do what you are doing. I don't think ANYTHING will interchange with F4i onto a Yamaha. I see alot of fabrication in your future, good luck with your project.

Yeah... that's gonna be some serious modification there, and I appologize that I cannot answer the question better about the fairing stay and that kinda thing.

I used to have an FZR... best I can tell you to do is one of two things...

1. Sell your fairings you've been buying and buy fairings for the 1990-1992 FZR. They'll bolt on directly and change it up to the single headlight look. This may not be what you were looking for, but it might be, so I figured I'd try it out. I like the single headlight much more!

2. Keep an eye out for a Honda F3. They're going to be priced somewhat close to what your FZR will be, and technically speaking, it's still a superior bike. I HAVE seen someone fit 600RR fairings on an F3... how they did it, I can't say, but I know it can be done. Probably with some research... perhaps google?

Also... if you want some REALLY helpful information, should you decide to keep your FZR, I've got a couple of links for you. (several of them break down what you can swap out and what it requires... though they're mainly talking about swingarms, wheels, shocks, etc.)

Thanks for all of the posts, I think I might have stated my question wrong though. I'm wondering if the 03-04 600 rr fairing stay is interchangeable with the f3 or f4. I'm not worried about it fitting onto the FZR I'm just wondering if an f3 or f4 bracket would be able to hold my 600rr headlight, gauge cluster, and front fairing. I know absolutely nothing about the honda f3 and f4.

Also, I do understand that there is a lot of modification in what I'm planning. A few people on fzrarchives have already done it an it looks pretty good. I already have a few mounting tabs fabricated and the fairings, headlight, and windscreen are all on the bike with my makeshift fairing stay. I'll post some pictures when I find them, anyways thanks for the heads up!

Yes, please do post pictures! I'd love to see a "timeline", in picture form, of how the project comes along!

And, I would say with 95% certainty that an an f3 won't hold an RR headlight... and 75% sure the F4 won't hold the RR headlight as well.

Sorry the picutre is so big hopefully the forums will downsize it. Anyways, I could only find one of my very first pictures, this was at the start of my mod. Since this I have put in the headlight assembly, windscreen, and seat. Also, I got the fit better inbetween the frame and the tank cover.

Here's my bike stock

Why not just save up and buy the superior bike?
