I bought a 600 F4I as my first sport bike, already had a 520 conversion on it, with the sprockets changed
to give it more bottem end, down 1 in the front and 2 up in the back(i think)

anyway, it is VERY touchy, and I like you, I was very timid around the throttle control.

my advise, just ride it, ALOT, you will get the feel of it and get comfortable.
by the end of the summer, your gonna want to make it faster anyway.

if your worried about pinning the throttle over a bump ...its never happen to me, it sound like your very tense on your bike and very stiff, try relaxing on it, be loose dont be stiff as a board

wow..interesting posts. well first off...just relaz and keep your wrists up...like they taught u in the class...nobody ever has that problem...cause its not a problem. your making mountain outta a molehill. im still confused on the whole gas thing tho..cause its not like your on some 500 hp bike that will flip if u snap the gas...if your in second, pretty much no matter what rpm and snap the trottle it will not wheelie or throw u..now if u pop the clutch and ****..maybe. but listen to the ppl who are tryin to wheelie and stuff cause if u read more on the forum u'll c thats its not that easy to do..specially if your not tryin to do it...

meh my two cents...ps..i love the can-a-tuna..AH HAHAHAHAHAHA funny funny

Just walk the bike if you want it to go slower [8D]

Seriously man, unless you got some crazy-freakin'-uncontrollable twitch in your hand from an old war injury, I don't think you'll have problems with the throttle, especially since you scored 100% on the MSF ('round of applause everyone). If you're worried about the bumps, try just letting off the throttle before you hit them and clutching in a bit.

It may not be clear to you from everyone's post, but I think the bottom line of what they're trying to say is, "BIKE'S AREN'T MEANT TO GO SLOW!!"

Krash, I like you too lol. J/K ok, so thanks for the advice everyone. I know bikes aren't meant to go slow, I guess that is one reason some of us like them eh? Thanks again guys. Great forum!

I noticed that the throttle on the F4i is different than my buddies 1000RR. I have heard this our fuel injection is kinda dopey and is just something you have to live with. I tend to always take a turn in second or third gear instead of first. It is something you'll have to live with. The only option may be a powercommander, but I have no real knowledge of those.

The f4i is one of the smoothest 600's out there and not near as twitchy as alot of bikes. Just take it slow and remember the bike is only a fast as you turn the throttle..

You want to keep it slow? I recommend riding the brakes and clutch. That should keep you going really slow and make the bike sound really cool and sound like you're always going really fast as it will always be around 12k rpms!!! lol
