use your hair dryer (heat gun works better) to soften up the vinyl ...then bar none best stuff to use is 3m adheisive remover...It's strong enough to take tar out of rugs and paint(don't ask)...but totally paint safe the active ingredient is naphta a little on a rag goes a long way!!

This is the technique I use and it works great. Heat up the decal/sticker with a hair dryer, then start to peel the sticker but keep the hair dryer going as you remove the decal. If any residue is left as you're peeling, restick the decal onto the residue and pull off again. You're basically using the decals own adhesive glue to pull off all the adhesive (this is called cohesion if anyone is interested, similar molecules like to stick together). The hair dryer keeps the glue warm so it's easier to remove. After you've gotten it clean off there might be an outline of the decal left over, you can clean this off easier with some soap and water or use Goo-gone and wipe it right out. Let me know how it goes.
Just wondering which decals you're trying to remove?
