I said to hell with "rim tape" and just used regular pinstriping from any automotive store (NAPA has great high quality stuff)........and I just applied it very slowly, inch by inch. I took a couple of hours, but it's on there, and it looks great.

I made my own applicator and automotive tape. the applicator is very small had a 90 degree bend on it the bend was held against the rim as a guide and i cut a slot with a razor to fit the tape through . i did it in like 30 min the whole bike with a friend helping and yea .. i coulda made it even better looking then what it is . its easier with the bike on the ground and not a stand i have tried that diden't work out to well. or take your wheels off.

Get the already curved ones that come in sections. I did all my wheels in no time and it my not be perfectly straight but it doens't have all the wrinkles and bubbles the straight tape does.

I bought some rim tape for my F4i and it came with this plastic applicator that made it pretty easy. And for my 1000 I got some cheap gold automotive trim vinyl from autozone for like 3 or 4 bucks and used the applicator with it, and it came out great. And best part I did it in under 30 minutes.
