Default headlight conversion

Am I alone in the fact that I think my f4i headlights would be dramatically brighter if both were on ALL the time. Has anyone heard of a way to use two dual filament bulbs that are always on, and then when the high beam switch is switched on both bulbs second set of filaments turn on making it brighter for extra vision. Im thinkin that wouldn't be too hard to wire up, anyone ever come across this before??

Just flip the switch. IT will always appear as a high beam because of the way the mirrors are positioned.

there is a mod out there to do this...you will have to search for it...as for chaning bulbs and doing dual filament...i believe the main concern is the heat radiated from such bulbs as i have heard they can melt the housing....the mod supposedly works well and D2D i don't think it's just the housing that makes the hi-beam "hi"....because looking at the dual mod, they look the same brightness on low-beams and higher on high beams but i am not 100% sure...

In the 600RR and 1000RR, all the lightbulbs are the same. There is not a high beam bulb and a low buld, they are both7's, and the only reason the high beam looks brighter is because of the way the mirrors are positioned. If you were to go change the high beam and low beam bulbs in your bike right now, it wouldnt make a difference because the are the same bulb. I am guessing this would be the same in the F4i.

There may be a mod for the F4i's, I am just not aware of it. But I know for the RR's, you have to change the entire housing. The brightness may be a little different, but the light pattern wont change. It will still be pointing upwords.

You can't just pop in dual-filament bulbs because your headlight reflectors aren't designed to use them. Cars/bikes that use dual filament bulbs (9007, 9004 bulbs, etc.) have headlight housings that are built specifically for that bulb.

I'm not sure if you can adjust your high beam independently from your low beam, but if you can, just adjust your high beam down below the level of your low beam. It'll brighten up the road, but you'll loose your function of high beams.

I find that if you adjust your low beam up a bit, you'll see much better, and a much greater distance at night without blinding people with your high beam. Then use your high beam during the daytime for increased visibility.
