Default Frame Sliders...

I have got an oil change comin up and was just going to get some frame sliders put on at the same time...all in one shot kinda thing. Because I dont have frame sliders yet i havent tried any wheelies or even burnouts bc I would just be to mad at myself for droppin my bike and bangin it all to hell. If/when i do start playin around more on my bike(06 600RR) and god forbid I drop it....even though its likely for people just learning, how much are the frame sliders really gonna save me in rep costs?

there's one thing that is universal to frame sliders that they protect.

and that's the frame. that's their only function. if you drop it, they MIGHT save the fairings too, (depending on how long they are) but chances are they wont.

if your stunting, you should strip the plastics off, and get a cage.

I dont plan on doin stunting all the time....just wanting to learn got get the front wheel up smoothly....you know for alil show and tell every now and again. Are you able to order a cage from any normal bike dealer? How much are they and how hard are they to put on, just out of curiousity.

I went with the Harris Performance ones. I got them from kneedraggers.com. I went with those because they came with fitting instructions and a template to use on the inside of the fairing to cut the hole. A lot easier to do than I thought it would be. Also IMO they look the best.

i never thought about sliders before until:

my friend was leaving base taking a right turn and the bike was cold, road was wet and the bike high sided and proceeded to do about 6-7 spins on its side.....the only damage was his frame slider was ground down and his swingarm mounted plate bracket was ground down a little.. not one scratch on his plastics or anything..they saved a lot of money for him...as for me i just got mine in the mail yesterday...

he doesnt stunt and neither do i but wierd things happen you know

Look at it like this I also have a 06 600rr and to replace just 1 of your fairings it will cost you 396.00 from Honda painted to match, thats no joke I almost had to buy a new one and scored one off of e-bay for 40.00 shipped. The sliders will definatley be worth it. I'm a foreman at a Machine shop and made a few sets for me and some friends on a manual lathe out of billet aluminum barstock and knurled the O.D. for a different look "for people that I just lost, that means I put a diamond pattern on the outside of it" lol didn't mean to be a smartass.

i would be very weary of aluminum frame sliders

they dont grind down as well as delrin and might cause the bike to grab the pavement and flip

delrin is made to slide smoothly over ashpault
