Default Charcoal canister removal

Hey guys,

I have a question. I want to know how to properly remove my charcoal canister. Thing is, I already removed it, but now thebike is running poorly. Basically, I pulled the canister and I vented the gas tank air vent line to the bottom of the bike. There is aline that comes out of the canister into the evap purge solenoid, this I just left open. I see on the factory vactuum chart that the engine pulles vacuum off of that sensor. So now that I have done this, it is having problems. Other than this, my bike is totally stock. Anyway, it gets VERY poor milage. Maybe about 20 mpg. Also, it studders some and it smells SUPER rich at idle. Does anyone have any suggestions? I mean, I know I can put the canister back on, but if I could just attach the vent hose to the sensor or something, I would like that more. Let me know if you have any ideas. Thanks alot!

-Josh
