im going to assume you are talking about the f3, and you will need the 3 piece fairings for the tail, the taillight from a 97/98, and the taillight bracket as well.
you will also need the seat, check my links in my sig for more info.

so besides the tail pieces, everything just bolts right up with no issues?
could you 'mix-and-match' some of the front plastics (i.e. 96' uppers with 98' lowers)?
only reason im asking is im in the process of piecing together the rest of the plastics that i need for my f3.

the front yes as long as its f3. they are the same.
the back has to be complete however within the 2year period.
95/96 complete or complete 97/98

Default I have done that "upgrade"

I`ve upgraded my -96 fairings to-98 but seat doesen`t fit well, it sits higher and leaves more space between seat and fairing, any ideas why, everything in rear is from -98 model ?

Raise rear of fairing where it bolts to subframe. Add some thick washers as spacer.
