Default 600rr or 1000rr

Right now 600rr and 1000rr are pretty close to the same price,
07 600rr is 8500 before taxes and an 06 1000rr is 8800 before taxes. I would get them both ha but, can only afford one.
It will be my first sport bike. I am wise enough to spare the throttle on a 1000. I use to race dirt bikes as a kid and just sold a 1200 harley after 4 months.
SO WHICH ONE? 600 or 1000?

The 600 is more than enough, but get the 1000 just so you don't have to wonder 'what if'. Plus you won't need/want to mod the 1000 for more performance, it is already too fast and powerful for the street, the 600 you may want to change sprockets or some other nonsense. I ride my buddies 05 1000RR and it is really f**king out of control fast, I rarely even get into the powerband hard before the road is over. The 600 you get to feel it come on cam and move, the 1000 is always just there. Get the 1000.

He's right, get the 1000, if like you say you're controlled enough to not kill yourself.

If you realize that the liter bike is more power then you'll ever need on the street and can control your right wrist like you say: get the 1000. If you want to hit the twisties everyday and have great power and a more forgiving throttle get the new 600, a great bike and you can keep the front on the ground . I went with the 600 but needed a little more after 2 months so I modded it and now its more then I need on the streets...lol

its not the intent of the rider. you can be careful all you want. the first time you hit a bump or twitch or sneeze in your helmet or whatever causes you to accidently twist the throttle around is when the 1000 will get you in trouble. if you dont have the experience to control the bike during an accident then you dont need a 150hp bike

The way I look at it is if you have doubts or just comparing price then go with the 6 cause there is always time to upgrade. Plus dirtbikes are totally diff, im sure you know but not my buddy when he tried to kick out the back tire when herounded a corner.

I faced the same problem when I bought my bike....I had to choose between an '07 cbr600RR or an '06 cbr1000RR.....It was kinda easy though....I know I'm F***ing crazy with speed and I knew if I bought a 1000 I'd be dead by now, so I got the 600. And I'm still satisfied with it. If this is your first sports bike, then I'd have to say get a 600 for sure.
