A few days ago I was cruising down the ocean road here and I came up on a Harley one ...apparently you can option for different engines on those weird things too...
It was huge ! , bright yellow and Harley powered
... gawd what a awkward looking thing it was ... and shook the bloody ground with the noise it made !! yuk !

I don't really know where this goes, but this thread is really about cornering at some level, so here is a race of 350cc bikes in 1953. Look at those tires. It looks like they could barely turn or hold a corner.

I remember back in 1975 buying my first set of Dunlop K81 tires ... pretty skinny , but in those days on a 1000cc Kwaka they were the best road rubber around ... LOL

Been to Deals Gap, "Tail of the Dragon", a few times. The curves are much tighter than "Oceans". The 318 curves in 11 miles range from semi-sharp, to hairpins. "Oceans" roads look like the roads to get to deals gap, but much nicer view. "Oceans" looks like a road I would love to make a run down a few times. The Deals Gap videos are not sped up either. I plan on going again in May. Wish I had a camera to catch some vids of the ride.
Dunno why , but I had the impression it must have been allot longer than that? ...

US 129 is much longer. Deals Gap is just the part of 129 that goes over the mountain. But the rest of the roads around there, as well as the rest of 129, is almost as good, but not as tight.
