Ive heard from several mechanics and dealers that alot of the new bikes come with the timeing retarded to power the bikes down a bit out of the showroom, and advanceing the timeing will unlesh more power, my old 9rr was easy just buy the advancer and bolt it in..

 

please let me explain what it is. I bought one of these about a year ago when the price was $59.95.When i recieved it I cracked the case and tore it apart. I was told from the guy that sold it to me from florida not to do that. Well, when I opened it all there was insideis a resistor with wire shrink wrapped at both ends and a crap load of hot glue to give it the feel of more weight.
Now the instructions say to wire it in series with the vehicle speed sensor. I went ahead and did that.Now I'm ready to see if the gains were true. I get on the bike, push the starter button and vroom the bike starts up,I start to ride and notice no gain. My acceleration was the same from stop to start my roll on felt the same but something was different, my speedo did not work at all. It gave me zero mph. So I drove it down to my bike shop and had it dynoed. same numbers. The thing is a scam. I contacted the guy who sold it to me and told him the story so the guy said i'll give you your money back and a lazer etched cbr 1000rr leather wallet for free, that he also sells on ebay. The thing is a scam do not waste your money and time.

 

Good info, joker. You gotta figure if it did what they claimed, they would be selling it for a heck of a lot more than $40.00

 

seams to me that the same people that sell thepower comander make somethig for timing as well ???

 

I had a 02 gixer1000 That bike came nutered from the factory. The $75 was money well spent.
Story goes. Under full throttle in 1st & 2nd theecu retards the timing & this small piece that pluged into the factory wiring tricked the ecu into thinking the bike was in top gear.

My searching so far hasn't found the answer to my question.
IS THERE A TIMING RETARDER ON THE 07 1000?
The timing most be retarted in 1st & 2nd because I had good cold air today& the bike couldn't get the front up in second GEAR off of power only. & third seemed to pull harder on the top end.

 

hondas do not do this.

if you want to install a timing retard eliminator on a 1000cc bike buy a gsxr.

the tre mod actually does work for them

there are only two ways to adjust the timing on a honda 1000rr
honda HRC ecu
or a powercommander ignition module
